MSDE Revises Minimum Stipend Rates for Apprentices

Noida, September 2025:
In a major step towards strengthening the apprenticeship ecosystem in India, the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Government of India has revised the minimum stipend rates for apprentices under the Apprenticeship Rules, 1992. The notification was issued via Gazette Notification G.S.R. 610(E), dated 3rd September 2025, and the revised rates officially came into effect from 11th September 2025.

This revision is expected to bring positive change for lakhs of apprentices across industries by ensuring better financial support during their training. It also aligns with the Government’s vision of creating a skilled and future-ready workforce under the Skill India Mission.

What Has Changed?

The newly revised stipend rates are aimed at motivating both candidates and employers to participate more actively in apprenticeship programs. Below is a comparison of the previous vs revised stipend rates:
